Magenta Stills

An overexposed picture,
a veil of magenta,
as though woven by memory that fed on too much wine.

Hazy nights, pregnant with innuendo
gave birth to dreams
little light flares in our wandering minds
metaphors- so believable
but unaware of time
running
grain
by
grain
through our fingers
until we ourselves drown like those countless silver crystals
and collide accidentally
to be then exposed and penetrated,
by want for coincidence-beaming rays of light
dispersing into false realities.

And hearts cling onto the has been
so that it may be.
Flooded by magenta we can barely see.
